Spam - depressing news
I've often wondered about spam - on the one hand, I couldn't believe there were enough stupid people about to respond and make it worthwhile. On the other hand, I figured there must be or the spammers wouldn't still be in business.
Well, it looks like there are because a spammer only needs a response rate of 50 in a million to be profitable, according to an article at The Register on a paper by Andrew Leung of Canadian telco firm Telus.
