Bollocks

Hmm... looks like I left it too late this time. Seems like best I have available to KL and back over the Christmas/New Year period is £910. Even my parents balked at the thought of me paying that for a 1.5 week stay, especially as they planned to come in to London for January. Looks like I'll be spending Christmas and New Year in London on my own then. So, anyone got any exciting planned for Christmas/New Year in London?

Parcelnet are a bunch of wankers

Imagine my surprise when I popped downstairs and found a card from a courier - only time I've been out of house was to post something but I guess they could have come at that time.

Now, I'd recently been notified by Amazon.co.uk that my order of Cromwell's War Machine and the season 2 BSG guide had shipped via Parcelnet so I assumed that had to be it. Called the number on the card only to find myself talking to Next Directories! Only other thing on the card was a handwritten "Amazon No 15".

Parcelnet website has no contact number and refers you back to the retailer. Amazon has no contact numbers either. Then, having sent off quick query messages to both Amazon and Parcelnet, it suddenly dawned on me: I live at No. 17... Sure enough, my neighbour had it. Would it have killed the courier to write a couple more words like "Left at"?

Another interesting comment my neighbour made: seems the package was given to him by a woman being driven round by a man in a saloon car. Huh?

I think tersely worded messages to Parcelnet and Amazon are called for...
