Supreme act of willpower required...

Good news: season 2 premiere of Battlestar Galactica downloading as I write. However, Kate's just SMSed to remind me to bring encode a copy to DVD and take it to Royal Gunpowder Mills and Beltring tomorrow where another of our party will have a DVD player... That and some milk and sugar! Now, I suppose the right thing to do is not to watch it as soon as it downloads but, given I used to watch that evening's episode as soon as I got in from fencing, never mind it'd be around midnight, I suspect my chances of holding out are somewhat slim.

There's also the SG-1 and Atlantis premieres too but they're very much secondary objectives.

Still, very sad thought: I could burn all these to a DVD with a UNIT training films-themed menu...

Another weird thought: I'd been shaking my head in disbelief at the reports of people heading out to midnight events to get their copies of the new Harry Potter. And yet, there I was in the early hours of the morning anxiously checking Usenet newsgroups and Bittorrent sites for the Galactica premiere... "Dear Kettle, you're black. Love, Pot"

Plans for the day, apart from burning DVDs:
  • print off the UNIT posters for Beltring
  • finish packing for Beltring (already got a big pile of mostly green kit on floor of dining room, along with small selection of British and German ration packs)
  • test putting up my newly acquired tent (and check they did indeed supply me with the navy blue version, not the hot pink one!)
  • figure out just where the Hell Waltham Abbey/Royal Gunpowder Mills might be (besides NE London-ish) and how one gets from there to Beltring
