Looi Kin-Ming

You can run but you can't hide

I'd promised my parents I'd start looking for a new job when I got back from Malaysia but I've done a pretty good approximation of bugger all thus far, mainly due to getting ready for one con after another. Despite that, as of this evening, I've got queries about availability/interest for various things from an ex-colleague and my former employers. Weird... Be worth taking up a contract with my former employers just so I can walk back in there with the biggest, baddest laptop in the office ;-)

Fencing went well tonight. Several tough, close-fought bouts and yet another new epeeist. I'm starting to think I should go away more often if they keep joining while I'm away. Regretably, she was relatively new to the weapon but it did get me thinking. On the one hand it can be pretty demoralising to get hammered on the piste but on the other hand, it could be seen as rather condescending to hold back too much except in a lesson. Hmm... personally, I'd rather take the hammering but I'll have to think about that one a bit more.

On the PC front, got Office and email up and running again, Agent is downloading my newsgroup list so I guess I'm more or less back in business. Next: install some games and see what happens!

Lastly, anyone who's actually been paying attention to my music entries that last couple of days will have noted some very odd titles (even more so than usual) - they're from a list I found of CMT's Top 40 Country and Western drinking songs. There's some hilarious titles in there:
