(no subject)

Well, so much for the Nos pre-meet. Due to domestic chores neglected while in Germany, I left way later than planned. Still dropped by Forbidden Planet and picked up another pile of X-Men comics and said hi to Hannah at the till.

Once upon a time I'd have been very reluctant to go to Nos without extensive emailling and calling round to ensure a critical mass of people I knew were going. Looks like I probably needn't worry too much about that any more.

Had a very pleasant, relaxing afternoon/evening. Clare kindly gave me a copy of this photo from End of Days:

but also proceeded to remind me I am expected to do a Monkey costume! Guess I should just bow to the inevitable.

Heidi also showed dressed as Trinity and, unsurprisingly, turned a few heads:

Damn, really must get round to seeing Matrix 2...

I was also pleasantly surprised to discover quite a few people had been to the recent Springsteen concerts at Crystal Palace and got into an especially wonderfully geeky conversation with Incandenza from T21 on all things Springsteen!

My reputation as an inveterate gadget buyer appears to be spreading - both Chewtoy and Jo were seeking first refusal rights on my digital camera and PDA respectively if and when I upgrade them...

One last thing: I got talking to Stuart and asked him about that Ultraviolet event he once talked about a long time ago. He then started looking thoughtful, saying "Well, I've still got contacts for all of them and, based on what Idris cost me... Hmm...". So, anyone interested in Ultraviolet, hassle him!

Had to leave quite quickly because Cathy wanted to dash to catch a train at Victoria and consequently caught some grief over MSN from Heidi when I got home for not saying goodbye first (she and Chewtoy were having Trinity/Neo photos taken somewhere outside at the time!).

Interview meme

Guess it's my turn. Standard intro:

If you want me to interview you -- post a comment that simply says, "Interview me." I'll respond with questions for you to take back to your own journal and answer as a post. Of course, they'll be different for each person since this is an interview and not a general survey. At the bottom of your post, after answering the Interviewer's questions, you ask if anyone wants to be interviewed. So it becomes your turn -- in the comments, you ask them any questions you have for them to take back to their journals and answer. And so it becomes the circle.

Questions courtesy of kittynic:

  1. Which is your favourite weapon from your entire collection?
  2. What's your favourite con related memory?
  3. If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
  4. What type of drink would you be and why?
  5. And just because it's always gets asked at conventions: Heather's caramel sauce question, who would it be? Licker or lickee?
