Seemed like a straightforward enough plan - come home, finish packing, head off to fence at Saxon then on check in at the Radisson for Orbital.
Mistake 1 - It being a week since Orange had said the missing 2Gb memory card would be despatched, I called them up. Turned out there was no sign of the request. So, the woman I spoke to said she'd credit my account by the value of one so I could go out and get myself one. By now unconvinced of Orange's ability to get anything right, I asked her to confirm my contract details. Good call. Turned out the details were recorded correctly in one system, just not in my account and next billing period's in a couple of days! Needless to say, this took a while and, it then turned out, the memory card is considered a promotional item so it arrives in up to 30 days. What the **** use is that?! I think a sarky letter to Orange is called for.
Mistake 2 - Got a mail asking me call work Global Support Desk to close out a request for local admin rights on the laptop. Needless to say, that took a while too.
End result: I realised by the time I got to Saxon and changed, I might have time for one or two bouts then it'd be time to go. So, straight to the Rad it is then...
