So much for getting an early-ish night. Been generating silly little fencing and other icons</a> and have now reached my limit of 42!

From a pure physical form factor point of view, the 7110 is still my all-time favourit design. If Nokia were to release a phone with that same form factor but with a modern feature set e.g. 3G, colour, Bluetooth, memory card slot etc, I'd buy it like a shot.

It'll never happen though as the spring-loaded slide proved to be point of weakness - too many returns for Nokia's liking.

Oh, and it probably says something that the 7110 is one of the very few old phones I've hung on to. The others have now generally been sold, given away or eBayed.

Ah, you just kept that one so you can stand on a street corner in a black longcoat and sunglasses, whip it out and say "Tank, I need a exit, now."

You say that like it's a bad thing :-)

I will confess that I became quite adept at timing things so that the slide was fully deployed just as I finished raising the phone to my head!

*sheepish* so why I bought the phone in the first place *blush*

You think you're the only one? The first 7110 I saw was a prototype at Nokia House in Helsinki - it was in the photo area where we were having our ID passes made up. It was love in first sight and when we discovered the slide was spring loaded, that was it. I knew we were destined to be together. Shame it took sodding Orange another 10 months to release it in this country! 10 months trying to hide my Motorola MR-2 from everyone in Nokia!
