BSG
Spent the weekend down in Horsham with Sally and David. Original plans to do much network gaming were curtailed by ever increasing problems with both David's and my PCs trying to browse and join Internet-hosted games. Looks like Gamespy's infrastructure gets confused if multiple PCs behind the same IP address try to connect. Need to do some more research into this.

Picked up Cossacks on budget but irritated to discover the English Civil War scenarios are multiplayer only. Goddammit!

BSG 2x20 and SG-1 9x-20: Very mild spoilers but you have been warned!
BSG: Holy frakking crap! Well, that was certainly unexpected. Talk about radical change in direction. Be very interested to see where this goes next season though! And now I have to wait till October?!? Quite amused to see the mailing lists etc explode as a result of this episode.

SG-1 9x20. Fell asleep partway through. 'nuff said. Might try again later...

Got a new toy: TomTom Bluetooth GPS unit. Feel the need to drive about to give it a good test. Unfortunately, I failed to spot the damned thing didn't come with a mains charger so I had to plug it into the car! One now ordered. I guess I can now start seriously investigating how to create that Peter Tuddenham/Zen custom voice set...

Mhmm, yes, I got Cossacks on budget just the other week too, and am much annoyed that all of the big battle scenarios are multiplayer only.

Yeah, that's true. It's just that the Civil War scenarios were the big draw for me and so that specifically is what irritated me most. Oh well, back to looking for a Total War mod maybe...

I did also pick up Mechwarrior Mercenaries at the same time on a whim. It's proving fun if a little dated graphically...

sg-1 9x20 - eh. kinda average, even with Vala in it. manoeuvre to get the supergate before the orii, try to find the whatsit in Merlin's library, some sword fighting with black knight (I'm seriously surprised there were no Monty Python jokes made by the characters - where's Jack O'Neill when you need him?) Then explosions. Not surprised you fell asleep.

And I'm 3 or so eps behind on bsg.

You're more up-to-date with SG-1 than BSG?!? How dare you!

My brain has been functioning at less-than average for the past couple of weeks, and since last night I was feeling exceedingly bleh, I was not about to waste BSG on a mind that was not fully functional. It would be wrong.

Yeah, OK, fair point...
13th-Mar-2006 04:07 pm (UTC) - TomTom website
I tried to find the website that tells you how to make custom voices, but I couldn't. Could you be a darling and send the url my way? Thanks.

A Zen (or Orac) voice would be cool. Let me know if you find one, I'm getting a little bored with Yoda.

Not a case of finding one. Been chatting to Diane Gies, Supreme Commander of Horizon (B7 fan club) and she says Peter Tuddenham's up for recording a voice set!

Where'd you get the Yoda voice set?
13th-Mar-2006 07:09 pm (UTC)
That's possibly the ultimate in cool (short of maybe Tom Baker) Majel Barrett wouldn't be bad either, and Peter Jones would have been fantastic if only he wasn't dead.

I got Yoda in a random download, along with a dodgy Homer Simpson and Ozzy Osbourne.

Heh. I believe I may have secured myself a copy of this. I think I'll wait till I'm happy with how it all runs before trying out Yoda though!

I got the cossacks anthology on budget from work..installed it, and promptly uninstalled it again after thinking it was pretty rubbish after the likes of rome total war and empire earth!

SG1..starts off very slowly, but the last 20-30 mins I thought were great!

Hmm... Have now watched it in its entireity. Still can't say I was overly impressed. Big spectacular battle at the end, yes, its outcome was so predictable. By contrast, BSG's ending got a serious "WHAT THE FRAK?!?" out of me.
